2011 Friday Evening Program and Party

After the BIFF parade, BIFFers stocked up on popcorn, candy, T-shirts, and capes before finding a seat in the theatre. One of the largest BIFFs ever, the auditorium was packed. The evening featured the Boy Scout color guard, BIFFman and the ORB of BIFF, and a wonderfully bad Batman Movie (1996).

The program began with the local Boy Scout Color Guard presenting the flag and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

The SUPERHERO PRESHOW video featured superhero music and movie posters. Watch it on YouTube.

A video introduction called SUPERHEROES A to X kicked off the evening's entertainment. This superhero showcase contains excerpts from promotional movie trailers for superhero movies from A to X. It also contains a short excerpt from a Superhero documentary. Watch it on YouTube.

A welcome was provided by the emcees by Ghostbusters (also known as Annette Lamb and Larry Johnson).

Welcome to the 17th Annual Bicknell International Film Festival. Unfortunately, we can't begin the festival because the ORB of BIFF has been stolen. Of course everyone knows about the ORB of BIFF and BIFFman... No?

A local video production called THE ADVENTURES OF BIFFMAN was shown to provide some background on this local superhero. The original video production traces the transformation of lonely theater owner Deuce Wayne into superhero BIFFman and his sidekick BIFFpouch. Their mission is to protect the powerful Orb of BIFF and promote the power of B-movie cinema everywhere. In this episode Holly Wood and her minions have stolen the Orb of BIFF. Can it be found before the BIFF festival begins? Watch it on YouTube.

After the video, BIFFman bursts into the theatre dragging the evil Holly Wood behind. Holly Wood is tied up in strips of film. BIFFman returns the ORB of BIFF to it's place at the front of the theatre.

BIFF can now begin!

A costume contest was held. Winners include Mystic, Nacho Libre, and the Super Family.

Door prizes were awarded, sponsored thanked, and BATMAN: THE MOVIE (1966) Countdown was shown. Watch it on YouTube.

Batman artwork

Batman: The Movie is a 1966 campy classic based on the television series. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward as the dynamic duo, this action packed flick includes all your favorites from the Rogues Gallery of Villains including the Riddler, Penguin, Joker, and Catwoman. You won't want to miss the Batcopter, Batboat, Batcycle, and of course the Batmobile.

The Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder aren't able to stop the kidnapping and dehydration of the United World Organization's Security Council. Is it too late to save these squabbling world leaders? Stay tuned... same bat time, same bat channel!

After the Friday Night program, participants enjoyed the "Party of the Stars" held at Rim Rock Patio east of Torrey. The party included food, drink, and live entertainment. Musical favorites, the Sister Wives were superhero musicans!
